Quit Smoking ...
In my last post I quoted the WHO Chief's Top 3 Tips for the Covid19 Pandemic. His third tip was to stop smoking. Smoking can increase your risk of developing severe disease if you become infected with Covid19.
Smoking damages your heart and lung health, limiting circulation and clogging up your airways. This increases risk for conditions including coronary heart disease, heart attack, stroke, damages blood vessels and limits blood supply around your body. It also increases your risk of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), respiratory disease and come cancers.
Smoking is also incredibly expensive, pollutes the air, smells, and sadly is addictive. Have a read through a useful HSE website on the negative effects of smoking and how you can quit:
If you are a smoker and have thought about quitting in the past, now is the time. There are several websites you can visit for success:
Here is the HSE website: https://www2.hse.ie/quit-smoking/
The Irish Cancer website: https://www.cancer.ie/cancer-information-and-support/cancer-prevention/smoking/how-you-can-quit-smoking
The Irish Heart Health website: https://irishheart.ie/your-health/ways-to-live-better/quit-smoking/
